Monitoring Lipo status

Finally the long wait is over. Got the Track field pack from Dualsky. Overall, quite please with the pack. It is going to be retail at S$119.

I am still using brush motor from Race Academy with a futaba MCR330. So there is no li-po protection. Added a voltage monitoring device at the balancing tab so I can at least know the status of the pack. Advice for first time Lipo user - Please read the instructions and safety aspect of the battery. It is very unlike Ni-CD or Ni-MH, once the cell is over discharge, it might not be able to perform as well. Worst, the battery might be unable to be charged or bloat.

My New Car

Got a nice buddy who decide to build for me a Tamiya TA05. Attached is the photo. Did some on road run at BK site. http://racecraftrc.com located at queenstown area.

Presently running with Ni-MH, race academy stock motor and Futaba MSC330 esc.

The car tires have recently been changed to PVC to do some drifting. It is something very new, and I find it difficult to change the style of driving. Join the drifters at Commonwealth from SG drifters. Thanks to Kevin who give me some pointers. Still trying at the moment, hopefully I can start driving in the drift track properly soon.

Some more details pictures from Dualsky

Attached is the first few details pictures supplied by Dualsky. I am lucky to be the first few to have them directly supplied by the Boss of Dualsky. From first look, the 5400mah battery looks like Team Orion Platinum Edition. But it increase its capacity to a high 5400mah. So far I think it is the first in the market. Another feature I like is the availability of balance tab charge port what can accommodate most li-po charger available in the market. This reduces all the hassle of using charging hardness, which includes a 2*4mm and 1*2mm gold connector. With the charging tab available, it also allows me to install a simple voltage monitoring which I will later write more about it once I got the item.

For the 4000mah battery, the most distinct feature is the casing. The transparent blue just match nicely with all the Tamiya hop up. I think it really look good on a TRF416 series.
